Every year in September, we look forward to the Little Servant Sisters Polish Festival and Country Fair in Cherry Hill, NJ. Today was a beautiful day where the kids had a great time playing spin the wheel games, looking through the white elephant tables and listening to the Polish polka music.
Of course my favorite was sampling all the Italian and Polish food. I felt like I should try a little of everything. Here is some of the goodies we ate:
Lasagna with meatballs and sausage.
Hand made pierogis. I also bought a dozen to take home. It will make a good night's dinner.
Stuffed cabbage with some good old fashioned root beer in the back ground. And this unbelievable apple cake that is OH, SO GOOD! I just had a piece and it is filled with apples and so moist. I actually weighed it because I was curious after thinking it felt so heavy. It was FIVE POUNDS, I kid you not!
So if you are ever in south jersey, make a trip to this wonderful festival. It is always held the weekend after Labor day. Until next year.............

Man, your town has the best community gatherings! Your kids look like they were having a good time! I love all of that food ... especially the stuffed cabbage and the pierogies. YUM! And a 5lb cake would equate to 20 lbs on my thighs! :-)
Great pictures! I want a slice of that cake...that is unreal that it weighs 5 pounds!
I wish I had been able to go!!! I love this kind of food! I have a friend who make pierogis and now that he's retired I hope he'll teach me how to make them and babkas...I'll have to tell my family in Barnegat and Lanoka Harbor about it...Thanks, Jennifer
We went to this in 2008 and it was everything you showed and more! Loved it. I really wanted to go this year, but we spent the day in Cape May. I'm pushing for next year! I live around the corner from Little Servant Sisters!
