This picture reminds me that the summer has sadly come to an end. The book bags are packed with supplies and the kids are fast asleep dreaming about the first day of school tomorrow. We had a great week at the shore and now it's back to reality. But first let's bring back some of the summer memories.
I am starting a new job on Wednesday and I am looking forward to the fall season. We will be busy with my son's soccer games and cub scout activities. My daughter is starting middle school and that brings on a whole new set of activities. Of course there is plenty of football to watch and I hope to be doing some fall comfort food cooking which includes soups, chili and apple crisp.
Today kicked off Rutgers football and I made a cheese platter to celebrate. I felt like this depicted the end of summer with grapes, figs, apples and flowers. Rutgers didn't fare too well however we finished the platter. I am also entering my picture in the Ile de France prettiest cheese platter picture contest. Happy Fall everyone!

Your cheese tray is terrific. I've got my fingers crossed for you. You have so much going on. You moved straight from the lazy days of summer to a jam packed schedule of activities. Good luck with your new job. I suspect you are a person who does well at whatever you set your mind to. Have a great day.
Good luck on the job and in your contest.

Lisa,
Looks like a great summer. My girls started back last month and it was sad to see summer go but excited for a new year and the fall. My daughters are in their second year of middle school and I was so nervous last year but they transitioned with no problems. Best of luck to your daughter this year.
Your cheese platter looks so yummy! Beautiful!
